Why Google Blocked Pakistani Adsense Accounts?

Everyone in Pakistan is talking about this today. A couple of days back almost 90% (if I am not wrong, because every other person I asked was doomed) of the Google adsense accounts of Pakistani webmasters and publishers were disabled by Google. Google Digital Community Moot Event, Islamabad

On 8th December 2010, Google arranged an event with CIO in Islamabad which was more of an Internet blogger camp and very limited and selected people across Pakistan were invited to this event. Many of us might have felt that they were left out of it, but I guess it was more of a blogger meet up. I was fortunate to be over there and meet the high-level delegate of Google team accompanied by Badar Khushnood (Google Consultant for Pakistan) and Omar Shakeel (Developer at Google from Pakistan).

I had the lovely chance to meet some people for the first time, who I have always chatted with online or tweeted. Naveen Naqvi, Sana Saleem, Imtiaz, Sidra Jalil, Hammad Dar, Muhammad Alam, Ahsan Mukhtar (dj_bubble) were among them.

All the photos of the event can be seen at my facebook fan page, click here. Some of the interesting photos are below.

P@SHA ICT Awards 2010 Lahore

On 8th October 2010, Pakistan Software House Association (P@SHA) held the ICT Awards at Royal Palm Country Golf Club Lahore. It was an amazing experience to be there and meet all the senior people related to IT Industry all around you. Jehan Ara (president of P@SHA) along with Rabia Garib (CIO Pakistan) hosted the show. The team of students led by Mr. Rafeel Akbar Chaudhary managed the whole show and it was quite well managed. The special table for bloggers were also an attraction because they were streaming live and twitting every on going event, led by Usman Latif. Among the bloggers we had Rai Azlan who is one of the upcoming blogger and loves to write about My Land Pakistan. He was also nominated for the best blogger in Blog Awards Pakistan.
