i cant help adding a short comment, it is shocking to notice some of the channels which i shall not name here displaying world globe to be rotating in un natural and non existant direction, a direction that is contradictory to reality! that in itself says enough of the journalistic standards we are facing which tend to be in direct contradiction to scientific values and facts we just read in Schools and Colleges, that earth rotates only Tawaf wise and not clockwise, just as do all the rest of celestial hevanely bodies in space on their North Poles! Tawaf wise is indeed clockwise! let not the times decieve your faith! If white house refers to Qibla, than we need to correct our Qibla and notice why and who drapped it in black contrary to 1000 year old Sunnah of drapping it White. Media of Pakistan needs to get on their toes and perform productive and enlightened Muslim Unity efforts! Then only the more the better, otherwise just waste of Nation’s/Ummah’s bleeding time!

i agree, it becomes matter of careful watch on all so many news channels all the same time, it becomes a matter of trust. The real problem is that public servants spend more time on these channels than in their offices, and no matter how many channels we have, public servants should not be allowed to use the services but only during National assembly and the like affairs. i wonder what will become of a nation where those bestowed and entrusted with affairs of the nation are busy posing before cameras day in night out. Not to forget the time it takes to make up for the tv appearance in makeup rooms! Lord have Mercy!Amen

Pakistani channel owners are assholes.the only requirement for becming a political talkshow host is you have to be a kanjar or a retired model and you dont require a degree in journalism,political science or history.
If u are willing to wear low necks and show curves then you will be a successful political talkshow host.
I think its high time that the government should impose a strict code of conduct for these losers otherwise they will become uncontrolable and also this is the perfect time to apply their code of conduct cause now no one will come out on the street for them cause they are trying to implement their kanjar agenda just to satisfy the lust of people in morning shows etc.thankyou

Err.. So, how much do you wanna bet on Pakistanis getting more TV channels than the Americans? Because there are more television networks in the US than there are channels in Pakistan (Geo is one network; Geo News, Geo TV, Aag & Geo Super are channels).

Sumaira and Tasawar you both have gone political with this matter. I don’t disagree with you but I don’t even agree with you people fully. The part Sumaira mentioned “These are those who watch indian movies and speak againt pakistan and then work against Pakistan” I strongly agree with you on this point. I also agree that we should have English TV Channels so that we can convey our message directly and properly to the West.

But the point I rose in this article is, why are we poking out the bad things about our society? I received an SMS few days back it was like “Pakistan mein rooz bomb dhamakay ho rahay hain, gurbat hai, choriyaan dakeetiyaan, magar agar phir bhi aap Aman Pasand Pakistan dekhna chahtay hain to PTV dekheen” (There are daily bomb blasts, sick people, robbery, theft, poorness in Pakistan but still if you want to see safe and sound Pakistan then watch PTV).

PTV is showing a balanced approach and no doubt holds a very important position in the industry. “EXCESS OF EVERYTHING IS BAD”, don’t forget this quote Sumaira .. By increasing the News Channels what we did is we started poking out and scratching out our own society! Instead of doing some favor or showing something positive of our society we are showing blasts, thefts, bad environment and blah blah blah, in short all the backdraws of Pakistan. And after showing all this you want your people to have the patriotism in them? Why would they Love Pakistan? They see the whole world as a peaceful place to live, why would they prefer Pakistan? Yes, that is all because of Excess of News Channels which are just showing negative points in every thing of our country. Indeed I must say, they are in a competition that who can get the more closer look at the disaster or bomb blast. WTF?

I agree with Sumair iqbal, He is really good, I think we shoudl have few channels of few programs who just take a duty to keep BIO DATA of our polititions their crime their bank accounts their ,cases againt them, Plus their Yearly Progress of their Town ,Like Mayors of pakistan should have competition on National Level ,we should make them accountable infront of public, Police Transperancy and their cases,
Plus Our Mega Project needs attention from our Governments like Sheikh rasheed said we will run bullet trains where are those bullet trains, NAWAZ sharif made plan of Underground lahore where is that, so for all theese we need media and our media should persue these issues aas well.
No doubt we have the BEST Transparent media in the world I bet.

Islam is a Open Relogion By the Islamic point of view we should have our own Media to fight our enemy instead on watching their filth we should have our own education and news ,Our own cultural stuff,We should have More TV Channels we should have Daring Anchors like Talat Hussain,Hamid mir,Kashif Abbasi,Shahid Masood and Express Tv acnhors,
We should have Our own English Tv channels becuasue we dont have representation in Europe and America like Aljazera and BBC or CNN we should have Powerfull TV channel now we have Only one english channel i think that is Express 24/7 its Very nice and Decent hopefully it would do good business,Please Closedown or Shut down DAWN TV its Indian channel representing pakistan ,We all Hate that channel,DAWN has proved that is Indian backed Channel. Talat is my BEST and Fav Anchor he is great better than GEO or Ary anchors,I give the credit to AAJ tv for having this talented MAN.
115 Channels show our determination and propgress Thousands of people are now engaed doing jobs now with those Channels , These ****** people who speak against Tv channels they dont know the power of the Media sand they deserve the Presedient ZARDARI like people. Today we are suffering problems by having these uneducated *****. I would like to only comment about the approach of the comments made earlier where other people are suggesting that we need more channels or not; If there is a person in your street selling a very bad flavoured gool gappas; would you buy it? Even he/she remains on your street corner for 100 years. I think safe answer would be no. We should keep the dramatic situation of pakistan and international propeganda in view as well. Another thing is that every entity has its pros and cons. It all depends on society how they use it. Societies learn gradually that how they want to use it. But i am strongly against the argument that we should control the channels and their types.

Yes, you are right. By having too much news channels, one can get depressed by watching so many terrorist activities held in our country. And more of it, some news channels MAKE A HILL OF MOLE. So, as we are Pakistanis govt. should discourage these TV channels or give licensed to those channels which promote patriotism like INDIAN Channels.. Even i am surprised to see that when MUMBAI CRISIS occured, our TRUE Pakistani channel, which they claimed to be Pakistani, were showing Indian AWARDS show by saying that they are promote the culture. Just think and research about that our and their culture are same. In their religion Dance and Music are permitted but ISLAM forbide us from that things.
And another good thing which surprised me that in INDIA,our TV channels are banned (even ENTERTAINMENT CHANNELS), and here we feel proud to show their AWRDS SHOWS on our TV..
So stop confused and haunt the terror among the countrymen and show them their culture and tell us about the RIGHT way which is ISLAM..

ummm. Agreed @Farrukh, @D3ViL. Buddy! Why are you upset about having too many channels? Its a fact though there must be check at news. Personally I think that PTV and its sub-channels must be sufficient. No more than national channels must be allowed. Private companies just try to sell stuff. And they do it by not always good means. They provoke people and show them what they should not have seen.
