Since around last decade I have seen the women fighting for their rights and now that struggle of gaining the rights have moved into the world of technology with campaigns launched on a world wide scale over Internet. Thanks to twitter and facebook for such social networks where one can spread a word. But my real question to all the young ladies out there are, what are they actually fighting for?

The world is divided into continents, and every continent rather I would say every piece of land on earth has a different society, culture and set of rules to follow. One thinks a woman wearing a short skirt and a bikini is not a big deal. On the other side of the world it’s considered a sin, and in France a Muslim girl cannot even wear a scarf but a Christian nun can do so.

The first thing we need to understand is the difference of society and culture, then debate on the rights. Why on Earth we among Muslim world are fighting for the rights for women when the status of women is highly defined in our religion and which is not debatable. Did anyone ever try to find out who started this FIGHT for women right? In the part of the world where I live, my heaven lies under my mother’s feet. My life is with my sister, my stability is with my wife and my future is with my daughter.

In a culture where ‘Munni Badnaam Hoi‘ and ‘Sheila Ki Jawani‘ from bollywood is prevailing and a TV anchors like Mathira (Vibe TV) doing the ‘Guchi Guchi Gu‘ in the most seductive way. TV drama serials where our wives and daughters are taught to play politics in their in-laws and where older women relationship with younger boys and vise-versa are becoming the only story of your drama serials, a purely house walled women is fighting for her rights? What rights are you talking about? Women are respectable in every relation but not they way we are heading towards.

The western cultured women had insecurities of their lives, that is why they started the fight for women rights. The women is not respected the way we eastern do. Divorce ratio is above 60% there, not here. Marriage culture is dying there, not here.

In my next article, I will right more about the definition of women rights and how Internet is helping in this cause.

Today I received an email back from facebook (and amazingly it was in junk mailbox of my gmail). Following is the email from them:

Hi Talal,

One of Facebook’s main priorities is the comfort and safety of our users. Your account was disabled because you engaged in behavior other users reported as harassing in nature. It is a violation of Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities to harass users on the site, whether through unsolicited messages, friend requests or other features. We will not be able to reactivate your account for any reason. This decision is final.

Now I want to know from you guys out here, what was my behavior which appeared to be harassing in nature. This is totally non-sense. I would request you all the fans out here to mail them now and ask them for my account re-activation. I would be really thankful to all my friends and fans out there, who helped me and loved me so much.

Facebook yesterday night disabled my profile and my fan page both without any notification. I got no idea, why would they delete it. I had over 900 friends on my profile and over 6900 fans on my fan page. I am feeling like I just had a greatest loss. I have created a temporary new account, but still hoping for them to return my original account back. I had so many photo albums in it, so many videos and alot of other stuff. To my surprise, I had also created other fan pages of different people, all of them are still working. So I guess, facebook just had a problem with me. If I ever uploaded any video that has copyright issues, facebook used to delete it right away with a notification, so I suppose its not about the copyright thing. So here is the link to my new profile (I hope I use it temporarily and get back to my original one soon).

Yesterday I had the most wonderful experience in my life ever on my birthday with social media network websites. Usually I was wished over phone calls and SMS on my birthday every year, but this time things changed. I was wished by over 500 people on facebook, twitter and orkut beside the calls and sms. I never expected that much love and care from my friends ever, but yesterday I got to know that I mean something in the life of all my friends out there. :)

Birthday Wishes

I guess, Yes! I am lucky to have you all friends there in my life. I am writing this post to thank all my friends and even to the people, who I don’t even know that much and they still wished me just because they are in my friend’s list on facebook. I seriously don’t have words to express my gratitude and say thanks to all of you. What I’ll just need from you people is that you all remember me in your prayers not just on my birthday but in your everyday life. Prayers can bring changes in life! and I am very much sure, that if all my friends are there to back me up then Allah will have to surely listen to all your prayers for me :) … (lol, I’m being selfish :P )
